Design Engineer

Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Brings products from initial design to final production

  • Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates parts and components

  • Determines design approaches and parameters

  • Analyzes requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability

Qualifications Required:

 

Education

  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years product development are required

Experience

  • Proficient with SolidWorks

  • Ability to bring products from initial design through final production in a timely and effective manner, using creativity to overcome resource limitations.

  • Proficient with equipment design, material science, manufacturing processes, prints, and schematics are preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of machine design, heat transfer, combustion science, thermodynamics, manufacturing processes and material science.

  • Able to handle multiple concurrent engineering projects

  • Ability to coach and instruct technical support staff

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong work ethic with demonstrative initiative, integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision. Meeting reasonable deadlines viewed as a personal commitment to excellence.

  • Possess good communication skills and an excellent ability to positively contribute to various project teams.

  • Demonstrates an excitement for contributing high-quality, innovative engineering designs. Cares about the ultimate customer and how they will actually use the Blodgett oven, visits restaurants to see equipment in operation and uses the tactical knowledge to improve designs.
