Riddle of the Month:  I'm not really more than holes tied to more holes; I'm strong as good steel, though not as stiff as a pole. What am I?  (see answer below)

CELEBRATING 160 YEARS

Blodgett Ovens, Since 1848

The year was 1848. James Polk was the 11th president of the United States. Gold was discovered in California. And Gardner S. Blodgett built his first oven for a local Vermont tavern owner using an improved commercial wood-burning system. By 1854, Blodgett had his first patent on an improved product for baking. Things would never be the same in California ... or the foodservice industry.

We are very excited to celebrate 160 years of business in 2008 and would like to share some of that history with you through out the year.

MERCURY REMOVAL

In our continued effort to design eco-friendly equipment, Blodgett has removed mercury filled FMEA  gas safety valves from all 1048 and 1060 pizza deck ovens. These units will now feature electro-mechanical valves. The FMEA valves on the 900 series deck ovens will follow soon.

BCX QUALIFIES FOR ENERGY REBATE

Blodgett's BCX is proud to be added to the Southern California Gas company's Energy Rebate Program for combi ovens. Many thanks to Justin Smith, of The Fischer Group, for his efforts in securing this rebate qualification. Not in SoCal, check with your local energy company to see if they accept the SoCalgas/Fishnick listing.
