EXCELLENCE IN STEAM

High Efficiency Gas Convection Steamer

Steam is one of the most efficient means of heat transfer available to the foodservice industry, providing an economical solution to any application, large or small. Cooking in a Blodgett convection steamer reduces loss of nutrients, while increasing flavor and moisture. The high efficiency GH gas models feature a stainless steel steam generator design that provides higher steam output than our standard gas steamers. Higher output means quicker heat up and recovery times and increased production. GH models also have steam jets for balanced cooking, individual manual controls for each compartment, auto blowdown, and a deliming port in the front of each steam generator.

Available in 5, 7, 10 or 16 pan models.

DELIMING YOUR STEAMER

Blodgett Makes Deliming Easy

To remove scale deposits, your steam generators* should be delimed approximately once a month. Deliming may be necessary more often depending on your water quality. Blodgett makes deliming simple with easily accessible deliming ports and a deliming funnel just inside the steam generator cabinet. To delime your steamer simply follow the steps below, no service call is required.

  1. Set the mode switch on the control panel to OFF. This will completely drain the steam generator.

  2. Set the mode switch to DELIME.

  3. Unscrew the deliming port located on the front of the  steam generator. Screw in the supplied deliming funnel. Make sure the funnel is in upright position. Pour 20 ounces of deliming solution into the generator slowly to avoid spillage. Remove the funnel and screw in the delime port cap securely.

  4. Set the mode switch to ON. Operate the steamer in READY cycle for ½ hour. Then turn the mode switch to OFF and allow the generator to drain.

  5. Turn the mode switch to ON. When the ready light comes on, switch to OFF to flush the steam generator. Repeat this step three times to completely flush the generator.

  6. Clean the exterior and interior. Use a mild solution of soap and water. Rinse with clean water. Dry with a soft cloth. LEAVE STEAMER COMPARTMENT DOOR OPEN WHEN NOT IN USE.

* 7, 10 and 16 pan steamer models have two steam generators.
